the proposal.

this summer, I discovered a new hobby: watching videos of proposals and wedding highlights. I’ve never been too into “girly” things like these, but something about these love stories just hooks me. Laura and I love getting together to catch up on the most recent videos, regardless of if we actually know the couple or not.

two of my recent favorite stories are Bekah’s and Brad’s. Bekah’s is simple and spontaneous while Brad’s is incredibly planned out (and going viral), but both of them come down to the same thing: one person showing his love to someone they care for deeply.

and that’s what Jesus does for all of us: he surrenders his life in an act of unconditional love for his people who he cares for more than we can fathom.

Bekah and Brad will both have beautiful weddings, I’m sure of it, but it’s incredible to think that they won’t even come close to comparing to what it will be like when Jesus returns, when the Bride and Bridegroom are united as one.
